The repercussions of tourism monoculture are evident above all in the Alps. In his book, winner of the 2023 ITAS Prize Mountain Life and Stories section, Michil Costa, hotelier, environmentalist and man of culture, calls for a new form of tourism, combating the industrialisation of the tourist economy and instead favouring a culture of hospitality based on solid values linked to the common good, sustainability and humanity.
