THE CARDIOVASCULAR PATIENT IN THE MOUNTAINS: FROM RESEARCH TO CLINICAL PRACTICE

An event organised by two scientific bodies, directed at the general population and health workers to deal with one of many problems related to health, namely cardiovascular disease, relatively common among those frequenting or living in the mountains.

An event organised by two scientific bodies, directed at the general population and health workers to deal with one of many problems related to health, namely cardiovascular disease, relatively common among those frequenting or living in the mountains. For this reason, FADOI (Federazione delle Associazioni dei Dirigenti Ospedalieri Internisti) and SIMeM (Società Italiana di Medicina di Montagna) will discuss together what happens to the body at high altitude, in the event of both good health and disease. Experts in the field will explain how these conditions are studied and how the information comes from research carried out in mountain environments, concluding with the services available in our area. The intention is to raise awareness of how to safely approach the mountains among people with cardiovascular and other issues, by providing correct medical recommendations based on appropriate scientific research, so that they can continue to frequent the mountains.
