What do we truly see when we photograph a mountain? The Alinari Archives, currently on display at Le Gallerie, present the Alps as both monument and postcard, landscapes of ascents and silences, leisure and labour that have shaped the idea of the mountains for generations. Alongside these historical images, contemporary narratives by photographers, filmmakers, and explorers reveal a territory that is alive, fragile, and constantly changing.
