Feature Film. Chatili is a mountain village isolated from the rest of the world. People are born, live, and die without ever leaving it. A young boy, Imeda, is orphaned, and geologist Gogoladze, the only villager who has decided to abandon him to live elsewhere, takes the child with him to the city.
As an adult, Imeda returns to the village to visit a sick relative. He meets a beautiful girl, Mzékala, a cunning and mischievous woman, and falls in love with her. But Torgvai, a rough and violent man, has also long loved the girl. Thus a strong hatred develops between the two rivals, which ends in a bizarre duel in which Torvai is killed.
Imeda and Mzékala then flee to escape the vengeance of Torgvai's brothers, but unfortunately Mzékala is killed after hours of arduous walking through the snow.
Imeda therefore dedicates his life so that his country can take a better path.
