A polish expedition is engaged in climbing the north slope of Dhaulagiri. The "storekeeper" mountaineer - Magazynier - who is responsable for the provisions and supplies, dreams of climbing the mountain with his friends, but he must stay at the base camp to carry out a less heroic, though equally important, task.
