Above all a mountain owl, the "Tengmalm", loves dense woods and a cold hard climate which it shares with other species that like quiet sheltered places. In the Alps and Jura this owl lives at an altitude of 1000m and over, on the upper borders of the forest. This film, shot during four spring seasons, shows the life of a pair of owls during the time they rear their young to the first flight of their offspring in July.
