A group of young Australian mountaineers, led by Tim Macartney-Snape and Lincoln Hall, get ready to open a new climb on the north side of Everest. They intend to be the first Australians to conquer the summit. The film, mostly work of the climbers themselves, narrates the vicissitudes of the expedition and points out the dangers and courage required to conquer the most difficult mountain in the world.
