After centuries of repression and fighting the Bolivian miners have learnt not to give up. An example of the tenacity is the "miners cooperative" - in particular the film talks about the Kami Cooperative the biggest in Bolivia - created after the State mining company was closed down and the tungsten and tin mine were abandoned because they were not proftiable. The miners who wersacked took over the mines and managed to supply nearly 40 % of the national production. The film describes the brutal life of the mine and the socially degrading conditions of the community that exploits men, women and children.
