Historically, Antigua is one of the most important towns in Central America. Guatemala and its political and cultural episodes are linked forever. This country has an inestimable partrimony of art and civilzation, inherited from the Spanish domination in the name of Catholicism. But several earthquakes have badly damaged the monuments of the past so that Guatemala had to ask for funds and technical aids. The Council of Europe, rged by Italy, is contributing a great deal. The documentary shows some of the art in this town that has its roots in Maya history which is practically unknown for Europe.
