The documentary recalls the most important climbs made during the 50th anniversary of the climb of the north face of Ortles and Gran Zebrù. Messner tells the story that begins with Josef Pichler who climbed Ortles "on commission" for the first time in 1804. The figure of Tuckett and Bater are recalled and then Hans Erl and Franz Schmidt, the first climbers of the north face of Ortles. The histry of Gran Zebrù is also mentioned which Stephan Sternberger was the first one to climb.
