A reconstruction of the historical climb of Mount Everest in 1924, interpreted by the actor Brian Blessed. This documentary which acted scenes makes us relive, in very realistic terms, all the suspense and disasters for the original heroic expedition. Lost forever, during a snowstorm, at 250 metres from the top of Mount Everest, George Mallory became a hero and a legend. His three expeditions to the highest mountain in the world were the boldest of all times. Mallory was, in all probability, the first man to reach the summit, 30 years before Hillary and Tensing. Displaying a great deal of courage, Blessed leaves for Calcutta. From there he moves northwards travelling on the roofs of the railway wagons. After a short visit to the Dalai Lama he spends three weeks in the magical kingdom of Buthan to get acclimatized. This is perhaps Blessed's most unique and rare role and, at the same time, the gratification of a passion that has accompained him through life. It s a challenge that no other theatrical or film role has ever presented him with before.
