According to the olympic champion, Bernard Russi, the downhill is the summit of skiing: he says that it is "the dream and the impossible". He is talking about free style descent, the sport of the masters of glisse, of speed lovers, of snow equilibrists. Free descents is a dangerous and extremly excinting speciality. It requires courage, daring, great passion and a pinch of madness. It is the terrain of expression priviledge by skiers who like to surpass themselves and challenge speed, dominating the fear that accompanies every second. In fact, even if they won't admit it, free skiers are afraid of accidents and of falling. They speak of respect, respect for the runs, for danger and for speed.
