This is a film about a team of people who, for work or for personal interest, go on a journey to eh Antarctic. They will have to face the extreme cold of a life among the ice and fifficultconditions, but also human warmth and happy moments. The idea of the director is to involve the audience and make them feel they are travelling with the team. The film also mentions the Antarctic Treaty and deals withthe problems of the environmenat and its future. One of the researchers says at a certain point " We are the first generation that can modify the earth's climate, and the last that can prevent the consequences." Under the guidance of the Norwegian Polar Institute of Researchers, the team of researchers and cameramen spent five weeks among the ice of Queen Maud Land in the winter of 1989/90
