Moile…Moile…in Mentawayan language means "slowly…slowly…". This is a pet phrase in thier conversation and it seems to emphasize the whole behaviorial universe typical of primitives people. Indeed, time for them is very different from the concept of productive optimization in our technological society. The inhabitants of Siberu, in the Mentaway archipelago, are now reduced to just a few thousand individuals who live in the equatorial forest to hide and protect their culture from an impending civilization which they perceive is devastatingly powerful. The film is not an anthropological thesis and it does not try to satisfy the curiosity of the audience. The camera is therefore a lifeless object, a simple hole trough which the spectator can spy sounds, sensations of the world in which natural elements blend with each other in harmonious equilibrium. A lost world, full of ancestral recollections.
