The post war political situation was unbearable for many Tyroleans. They felt exposed to pressures similar to those before 1945. Many people thought violence was the only possible solution. On the 30 th January 1961, an alluminium statue of the Duce was blown up at Ponte Gardena. This was the beginning of the biggest wave of attacks in Alto Adige. In the night between 11th and 12th July, the sunday dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 47 high-tension pylons were blown up in Alto Adige. Many were tortured. These events form the background to the drama of many Tyroleans families, leaving their mark until today. The scene is the same imaginary country of the first two parts of this south Tyrolean "saga". the action takes place among the families: the Oberhollenzers, the Tschurtschentalers and the Rabensteiners.
