Adolf Vallazza, to whom the Film Festival dedicated the exhibition «Art and the Mountains» in 1991, is an artist attached to the myths of mountains, forests and wood. For his work he uses the old wood of firs, larches and pines, that during their life have seen many changes of season, supported the warm summer temperatures and the rigours of winter, drunk during the violent thunderstorms and braved the threat of lighting. Men too have been influenced by this environment and have created legends about witches, dwarfs, gnomes and gods to explain it. In old wood Vallazza perceives the voice of the wind, the beat of wings, the chirp of birds, the buzz of hornets in a concert of nature.
