We are in North Quebec, which the Inuits call Nunavik that is the land where you live. Lucas Billy was born in an igloo and grew up on the ice pack. His son Joséphie was born in a house and grew up in front of television. Lucas has decided to teach his son the things he learned from his father and he takes him to explore Ungava Bay. However, the real lesson will take place the following winter beyond the Torat Mountains where the ritual killing of the polar bear will initiate Joséphie into adulthood. The deed is done. The death of the animal is compensated by the birth of a new adult man.
