This is the story of the Haut Salat valley in the central area of the Pyrenees, where the inhabitants of the last century, in order to survive, were forced to create an actual industry of «montreurs d’ours», namely those who toured the towns exhibiting bears. The director of this movie has studied the valley and its people for 20 years in order to create a document as close as possible to the historical truth. It is a piece of the «realist» genre, which leads us from the mountains of the Ariège region to the hearth of Manhattan among the descendants of these valley inhabitants.
