Immersed in the Dolomite world, the Latemar group is unique for its high peaks, dark gorges, unstable polychrome rocks, solitude and seemingly realistic legends. Not many people have traced mountaineering routes on its towers, nor has the editorial world bothered to visit this group that divides the Fiemme and Fassa valleys from the Tyrolean Val d’Ega. Instead, geologists have often frequented the Latemar to study the rocks. The charm of Latemar lies in its variety of form, the fragility of its rocks and fairytale dimension. When climbing the peaks, towers and walls, or the dark channels furrowing it, physical action surrenders to the enchantment of the Latemar, a world populated by ‘dolls of rock’.
