We are 2,500 metres high in Iran, in the Zagros mountain chain which stretches 1,000 km in a northeast-southeast direction and is about 200 km wide. Satar Nassiri sadly observes the huge stupendous valleys that only the members of his tribe knows. He is a Baktiar nomad, or rather he was until he became permanently settled. However, now and then, he sets off again to join his family, men, women and children with their flocks of sheep, who, at the change of every season, cover over 300 kilometres on foot. A way of life that has not changed for many centuries, despite the arrival of progress. A hard rough life, but free in a land of wild and unspoilt nature. An immersion in a traditional Iran, quite different from the picture the media usually give us.
