Yosemite, California. No other place in the world evokes the subjects of sports climbing like this valley dotted with peaks familiar to all enthusiasts, El Capitan, Half Dome, Sentinel. Yet Yosemite is also a place of great environmental value. It is fact one of the first American national parks and among its “ promoters” were personalities like John Muir. The film describes the history of exploration of Yosemite and narrates, with many interviews, the succession of climbing styles and the ascent routes opened by generations of climbes. Besides the exact reconstrution of the climbs, the film also narrates particular moments like those of the famous “ Camp 4” frequented by free-climbes. The interviews and historical reconstrution with archival material are alternated with panoramic scenes and close-ups of the and main peaks.
