The silence and passig time marks the life of two elderly brothers who live in an old house in the French Alps. Charles and Eduard are two unusual mountain bachelors, whose slow daily routine consists of simple repetitive gestures: eating, sleeping, caring for the animals. Isolation has become a way of life. Only one of the brothers goes to Mass on Sundays and meets other people. Here, where nothing ever changes, the mountain is a refuge and the silence is broken only by a few measured words and the sounds and noises nature produces.
