The film presents the top rock climbers from Britain and around the world engaged in over 200 different ascents, among the most difficult and dangerous in the world. The different climbing styles and scenes in Britain command both respect and bewilderment. The different ascents are closely examined: we can see many difficult first ascents, daring repetitions and brave solo ascents. From the steep cliffs of the North Sea passing by the massive sandstone rocks in England up to the Irish and Scottish mountains, we follow the climbers through their preparation for the ascent; their concentration, strength of will, successful and unsuccessful attempts, and the continuous challenge of new obstacles. Among many others, the climbers we see in action include Dave Mc Leod, James Pearson, the Canadia Sonny Trotter, the Australian Ben Cossey, the German Jude Spancken, Katherine Schirrmacher, Johnny Dawes, Nick Dixon and John Dunne.
