On 23 April 2005, in the village of Spingul, on the mountains in North Afghanistan, a 29 year-old woman was stoned to death because she was found guilty of adultery. The story told in this documentary began 5 years before the news appeared on all international media producing a strong emotional wave in the world’s public opinion. The tragic events of the two lovers ad above all of Amina, are told through the eyes of several witnesses. The author tries to explain what really happened the day of Amina’s death. The young woman was actually killed under mysterious circumstances, which were quickly reported in too many differing versions. The investigators seem to be certain that her death was caused by a heart attack, but many characters in the documentary film have contrasting points of view about the event. The film shows how it is more and more difficult to know the truth and understand the scale of values in a world where a woman’s life often counts for less than nothing.
