After First World War, twenty-year old Angèle is determined to become the first female vet. Having a particular passion for wolves, Angèle moved to the Alps with the main purpose of saving some wolf packs from extinction. Her adventurous spirit forced her to get involved in a furious struggle among her fellow citizens, thus becoming the object of ruthless rivalry. In fact she is helped by a visionary unscrupulous industrialist and by a simple man who lives like a hermit in the mountains, in total symbiosis with the animals and far from the mad crowd. Angèle will provoke their differences in order to reach her true goal: to save her beloved wolves.
After working as assistant director, Gilles Legrand very quickly became a producer. He founded his production company, the Epithète film, producing many French films such as Ridicule and La Veuve de Saint Pierre by Patrice Leconte, as well as Tombés du ciel and Tenue correcte exigée. He has recently produced Les Ames grises by Yves Angelo. It is only in 2004 that he moved on to directing with the film Malabar Princess. In 2008, he repeated this experience with the film La Jeune Fille et les loups, a drama featuring Laetitia Casta, who is in love with nature and Jean-Paul Rouve as an unscrupulous industrialist.
