For those who live on its slopes, Mount Ventasso is “in tel fade”: “where the fairies live”. From its summit the ethereal presence of a remote ancestral cult protects those tied to the mountain. The documentary takes us on a journey through the sites, the magic and the memories of the Reggiano Apennines: Lake Calamone in the midst of the autumn mist, the deserted square of Nismozza covered by the abundant snowfall of late winter, memories of the war and the resistance movement, the May traditions, the stories carved into stone and the sound of the wind on the crest of the Cusna. It offers a free-ranging and unrestricted exploration of the soul of the places, accompanied by different voices, because there are many different interpretations and points of view of a geographical area.
