Francesco Dal Cin, known simply as Il Cin, was a historic figure in Italian caving. He was responsible for the first explorations of Busa di Castel Sotterra, a cave in Montello, Treviso, in 1961. He started work as a volunteer for Italy’s National Mountain Rescue and Caving Corps (CNSAS) in 1978 and was the first person in Italy to embark on caving and underwater explorations; he was also a great traveller. He died in 2005 at the age of fifty-nine; his loss is irreplaceable, not only for caving but also for everyone around him. Il Cin and his charisma would be difficult to explain without knowing more about his other passions, his rugby and his political work in the 1970s. This documentary retraces the life of an extraordinary man.
