On a scientific expedition a biologist, E.D. Hubbs, and his cynical assistant, mathematician James Lesko, discover a town deserted after an attack by highly evolved ants. Saul Bass

Few did as much to alter the aesthetics of commercial and popular culture in the second half of the 20th century than Saul Bass. A New York-born graphic designer, Bass became a go-to design man for Hollywood’s most prestigious directors, including Hitchcock and Kubrick. In 1974 he directed his only feature film, the sci-fi outing PHASE IV.
