In a remote mountainous region of Iran, Kurdish carpenter Hussein Mahmood trudges through the snow. Watched by squirrels, he searches for the best wood with which to craft artificial legs. In an area plagued by landmines, his careful work brings peace to victims of these indiscriminate weapons of war. In close rhythm with the natural world around him, Hussein’s work presents an inspiring vision of care and connection.
