In a valley on the frontier between Italy and France, in a land that has always been a place of passage, the lives of migrants and workers at a reception centre interweave. The migrants try to cross the border to arrive in France, aware that they may be turned away at the frontier. The seasons follow one another, the past and present are superimposed and different human paths twist and turn, caught in the irreversible act of seeking a better place to exist.
