Romeo gets out of jail. There is nobody waiting for him: his wife has abandoned him, while his son has been adopted by another family. Romeo finds out where the new parents of his son live: in a mountain hut in Gressoney, in Val d'Aosta. Without telling them who he is, he begins to get to know them: the father is a researcher who studies the behaviour of the alpine ibex, the mother pretty and friendly, while the child is affectionate. However, a social worker reveals the true identity of Romeo, who decides to leave on his own so as not to disturb the equilibrium of the family.
