In the mountains, a priest transports the body of his mother, who he has helped to die, closed in a chest on a cart, to bury her on the banks of a lake, close to the frontier. During the journey he encounters a shepherdess who is taking illegal immigrants over the border. The two figures, worlds apart in terms of personality, have the chance to get to know each other and experience an unexpected understanding for each other.

A philosophy graduate, he works as a director and filmmaker, particularly for RaiSat. He devised and now coordinates a children’s film school.
Lorenzo Ceva Valla
A photographer and director, he has worked with Mario Garofalo, directing the film AINOM, which won the award for Best Foreign Director at the 2011 China International Film Academy Awards.
